After 35 combined years in an academic otolaryngology (ears, nose and throat) practice David Vernick, MD and Harsha Gopal, MD decided to form a private practice in 2004 with a commitment to provide expert and timely care to patients. The practice of Vernick & Gopal welcomes patients with longstanding, unusual and unresolved otolaryngology problems. The practice was designed to include physicians and support staff with outstanding credentials who will carefully evaluate, collaborate and treat both simple and complex medical problems. Our staff includes highly skilled and board certified ear, nose and throat physicians and fully licensed audiologists. As well, our office staff is committed to making your visit as stress free as possible.
We provide full service Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat) and Audiology at our offices in Chestnut Hill, MA. We are staffed by board-certified physicians and surgeons who can address all your diagnostic and therapeutic treatment regarding the head and neck, ear nose and throat. We also provide care for our patients at the following Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Children's Hospital of Boston, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. All our Physicians are on the clinical faculty of Harvard Medical School. Our office also provides full audiology services including evaluation and treatment for dizziness and hearing disorders, dispensing of hearing aids and the making of professional earplugs.
Our physicians are available to evaluate and treat patients for disorders including but not limited to nasal obstruction, sinusitis, Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, sleep apnea, hoarseness, cough, laryngeal disorders, tonsillitis, enlarged tonsils, facial pain, headaches, oral lesions and pain, neck masses or enlarged glands, salivary gland disorders and tumors, skull base and pituitary tumors, hearing loss or deafness, dizziness, ear infections, earwax obstructions, ear pain and ear fluid. We also work closely with several sleep disorders centers in the area and perform different types of procedures to reduce or eliminate snoring. If you are not sure if we handle a given problem, please feel free to call and ask us. Our physicians are also fully qualified surgeons with operating privileges at the above hospitals. We do not do facial cosmetic surgery but work closely with several plastic surgeons in the area. We see patients from all over New England and beyond, and our staff is used to accommodating out-of-town patients.
The Audiology staff at Vernick & Gopal brings a combined 25 years of experience providing differential diagnosis and non-medical management of hearing and balance disorders for adults and children. Services include hearing test (HT; ABR); balance assessment (ENG & VNG); Canalith Repositioning or Epley Maneuver; hearing aid sales and services. In addition, customized earmolds can be made for hearing protection, swimming and for use in personal listening devices such as MP3 players and wireless cell-phone adapters. All of the audiologists are certified by the American-Speech-Hearing Association and licensed to practice Audiology in the state of Massachusetts.
